What Are NuVeneers®?

NuVeneers are an advanced, ultra-thin alternative to traditional dental veneers, designed to enhance the appearance of your smile without compromising your natural teeth. Offered exclusively by leading cosmetic dentist Dr. Rodney Raanan, in his Beverly Hills dental office, NuVeneers® provide a minimally invasive solution for a range of cosmetic dental concerns.

Unlike standard veneers, our Beverly Hills NuVeneers require little to no removal of your tooth’s enamel, eliminating the need for anesthesia or extensive drilling. This makes them an ideal option for individuals with small chips, cracks, discoloration, or permanently stained teeth. Additionally, NuVeneers® can effectively fill gaps and lengthen small teeth, delivering a natural and aesthetically pleasing result that seamlessly integrates with your existing smile

How are NuVeneers Different from Standard Dental Veneers?

NuVeneers® preserve your natural teeth.

To fit a standard porcelain veneer on a natural tooth, the tooth must first be prepared. The dentist prepares the tooth by drilling away the enamel layer, so that the veneer can be bonded to the remaining part of the tooth. Remember that this layer of enamel will never grow back. In some cases, the preparation even extends into the dentin layer below the enamel. This requires an injection of local anesthetic. In contrast, NuVeneers are bonded to the teeth without destroying the enamel.

NuVeneers® look more natural.

Standard porcelain veneers can appear thick and bulky, especially where they meet the gum, giving them the trademark “Chiclet” look. Due to NuVeneers being ultra-thin, they become virtually undetectable. Each NuVeneer is handcrafted by Dr. Rifkin and Dr. Raanan’s in-house Master Ceramists, with colors selected from a vast array of pigments which create a more natural-looking color.

Porcelain Veneers
VS.
NU Veneer

When evaluating porcelain veneers versus thinner veneer options, such as those occasionally referred to as “Nu Veneers,” a clear understanding of their respective clinical applications is essential. Traditional porcelain veneers, fabricated from high-grade dental porcelain, offer a robust and highly aesthetic solution for comprehensive smile transformations. Their increased thickness allows for significant correction of structural and chromatic dental anomalies, necessitating precise tooth preparation to ensure optimal fit and longevity. These veneers are renowned for their durability and stain resistance, providing patients with a long-term, predictable aesthetic outcome.

Thinner veneer alternatives prioritize a minimally invasive approach, often requiring minimal or no tooth preparation. While these veneers can address minor cosmetic imperfections, their reduced thickness may compromise their ability to mask significant discoloration or structural irregularities. The selection of veneer type should be predicated on a thorough clinical assessment, considering the patient’s existing dental condition, desired aesthetic outcome, and long-term restorative goals. A comprehensive consultation with a qualified cosmetic dentist is imperative to determine the most appropriate and clinically sound treatment plan.

Is porcelain veneer a good option for me?

Best Cosmetic Dentist in Beverly Hills

Porcelain veneers can be a fantastic solution for those seeking to enhance their smile, but it’s essential to determine if they align with your individual needs. Ideal candidates often have cosmetic concerns such as stubborn discoloration, minor chips or gaps, or misshapen teeth, and desire a long-lasting, aesthetically pleasing result. Healthy gums and sufficient tooth enamel are crucial prerequisites, as is a commitment to diligent oral hygiene. If you’re prepared for the investment and have realistic expectations about the transformative yet natural-looking outcome, porcelain veneers could be a worthwhile option.

However, certain factors may indicate that veneers are not the right choice. Individuals with significant dental issues like severe gum disease, untreated cavities, or bruxism should address these concerns before considering veneers. Similarly, those with insufficient enamel or a lack of commitment to proper oral hygiene may experience complications. It’s also vital to acknowledge the financial commitment involved. A thorough consultation with a qualified cosmetic dentist is the most reliable way to assess your suitability and explore alternative solutions if necessary, ensuring a personalized and informed decision.

Porcelain Veneers

Frequently Asked Questions

Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored porcelain that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth. They’re designed to improve the appearance of your smile by correcting imperfections like discoloration, chips, gaps, and misshapen teeth.

Veneers can address a variety of cosmetic concerns, including: * Discoloration that doesn’t respond to teeth whitening. * Chipped or cracked teeth. * Gaps between teeth. * Uneven or misshapen teeth. * Teeth that are too small.

With proper care, porcelain veneers can last 10-20 years or even longer. This includes maintaining good oral hygiene (brushing, flossing), regular dental checkups, and avoiding habits that can damage them, like grinding your teeth.

The procedure is generally not painful. Local anesthesia is used to numb the area, so you shouldn’t feel any discomfort during the placement process. Some sensitivity may occur after the procedure, but it’s usually temporary.

Typically, you’ll need two to three appointments:
* Consultation and treatment planning.
* Tooth preparation and impression taking.
* Veneer placement.
